‘Black Lives Matter’ protesters descend on Washington, D.C.
A sunny Saturday swelled the ranks of people from all walks of American life flooding the streets of the U.S. capital to register their dismay and demand change following the May 25 police killing of George Floyd. Hundreds of people marched through downtown Toronto streets to protest against anti-black racism on Saturday. The crowd stopped at city landmarks including the Toronto police headquarters, city hall, the U.S Embassy and Queen’s Park. Thousands gathered in downtown Vancouver on Friday to take part in an anti-racism protest. The rally was one of many anti-racism demonstrations across Canada to protest police violence against black people.
